Yes, it's a new year, Nontrads!
Are you motivated to go back to school? I have a good page on the site for you (below). Plus more tips.
You may be reading this at the Non-traditional Student website.
This site for Nontraditional Students, will be updated for 2018 this year. In the meantime, there are some good links and pages here.
Here are some of my favorites:
Nontraditional Student Scholarships to check out, Page One and Page Two, plus a page to help you Get Motivated. I hope to also add pages this year here.
If you have a Nontraditional group at your school, drop me a line at lizann 447 at yahoo dot com (no spaces, etc.), and I will add your link and message to your State Page here.
In the meantime, for the Nontraditional Students in school right now, I hope things are going well.
Feel free to post at the Blog Page under Comments.

Never too old... that's really true. And the sooner you start, the better.
"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream."
-C.S. Lewis
How true this is. When I went back to school, I met an older woman who was taking art courses. She had wanted to do this for a long time. And finally, she was doing what she had dreamed of. She was very happy, she said, and planned to continue with other classes.
At WKU, people can take classes after age 65 and do not have to pay tuition. Maybe a school near you has this program.
And sometimes you can take classes online for no charge. Plus, you can also audit classes for less money.
However you swing it, going back to school may be just what you have been wanting to do for a long time.
If you are not yet back in school, try it out - you might like it!

Hello, nontraditional students - chocolate - diets - fashion - backpacks, more!
Hello, Nontrads!
Here is some news about the site, and some talk about the upcoming holidays, diets, etc. etc.
I have been very busy re-doing the Nontraditional Student website. I plan to completely overhaul the design and navigation there.
For now, you can still access the old site here: The Nontraditional Student site.
Your State Pages are here: The Nontrad site Map Page so you can still check to see which schools in your state have nontrad groups. Also, call - - there are NEW nontrad groups forming all the time.
If you have some suggestions for me, please leave a comment at the end of this posting. Thanks!
CHOCOLATE!
I am downtown today at the Pots Place Gallery here in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and there is a huge tub of chocolates here at the table with me.
I hope to have just one or two pieces today... but it is a temptation. Are you tempted at Halloween too?
Low-carb diets will allow for chocolates, but not a huge amount like I used to eat. Darn.
Fashion: Are you buying something new for Fall or Winter this year? What are other students wearing? I am curious.
The Nontrad News
The new issue of the newsletter is out. Here is that link to it (it's on the top) and also to other recent newsletters.
The Nontrad News Archive
So... how it school going? Leave a comment about that too. A curious mind wants to know!

PS Disregard the different fonts here. I am just beginning to learn to post using my iPad. Later, I hopefully can figure out how to post with PHOTOS too, write using another app besides Notepad, and more.

A reminder: Get connected, nontraditional students!
Hi to all nontraditional students!
Nontraditional students are a growing group across the country and abroad. Older students are realizing that they can change their lives and go for their dreams.
There are many nontraditional student blogs and websites online to help them in their educational journey.
I have several that may be helpful to you. Along with this blog for nontraditional students, there is also the Nontraditional Student website, Nontraditional students on Facebook, the Nontraditional Student Yahoo Group, and a Twitter site.
The Nontraditional Student website has different state pages where people can look up nontraditional student groups in their state. They can also submit their group to the site.
Nontraditional students on Facebook has 538 Likes. Members can post to the Wall, and there are links and interesting cartoons and articles listed there.
Nontraditional Student Yahoo Group has 278 members. Three just joined recently. Right now, there is an introduction for a new member from Texas. I like the fact that the group is diverse and has people from all over in it. Members give advice and share how they are doing as nontraditional students or people helping them or thinking about going back to school soon.
The Twitter site shares web links and links to interesting sites for nontraditional students. There is also a site for scholarship and grant seekers at the ScholarsGrants Twitter page.
