I think non-traditional students have an ATTITUDE. I think it comes from knowing how much time they have left and wanting to do something with it.
Remember when time stretched in front of you forever? Non-traditional students want to use time wisely and actually learn something NOW.
It's a good attitude to have.
Absolutely! I am a non-traditional student and just got raked over the coals by a Department Chair for being too enthusiastic, "over participating in the class", one group of juvenile collegiates even laughed at me for being overweight. These co-eds are young enough to be my children, that is, if I were married at a young age (like their mothers....) Now with their cyber-bullying (making false claims about me and my attitude about the professor), I GOT in HOT water!! WOW. Good thing I have IN WRITING my very positive professor evaluation. Do parents know their kids are pulling this crap??
